Dundee Township Planning Commission
Regular Meeting
January 21, 2026
Chairman Art Bronson brought the regular meeting for the month of January to order at 7:00 p.m. The Pledge was recited and roll call was taken. Present were Bill Plumb, Diane Ruehs, Ed Proctor, Lisa Ost, George Salenbien, Building Inspector Dennis Kolar and David Sedlar. There were approximately 12 public present.
The minutes for the regular meeting of December were unanimously accepted after Mr. Proctor supported Ms. Ost’s motion to do so.
The agenda for the meeting was reviewed by the board. Ms. Ost made a motion to accept it as printed, Mr. Proctor seconded this motion, and all were in favor.
There were no communications.
Under Public Comment, one person reminded the board that people need water to survive.
Scheduled Business
- Data Center Ordinance Amendment – Chairman Bronson noted that everyone on the commission had been sent a draft of the Data Center Ordinance. He reminded them that it is against Michigan Law to pass an ordinance that would disallow any use in the Township, which would include Data Centers. Therefore, the best plan of action would be to create an ordinance which would control such an activity that might come to the Township.
Mr. Sedlar stated that he and the Chair have spoken with the representatives from Cloverleaf and separately with Lucie from Mannik & Smith, discussing what needed to be done to produce a strong ordinance for Data Centers. Lucie then produced a draft to start working with.
Chairman Bronson felt it was a good starting point. He noted that Micaela Bogi offered
at the last meeting to help set up a citizens committee to come up with suggestions for the Planning Commission to consider. The committee was not official yet, but most likely would be by the next board meeting.
Ms. Bogi noted that the committee would be working with the PC along with the Township Board. Chairman Bronson said that this in no way would prohibit any of the public from contacting the board directly. It was hoped that such a committee would allow more frequent communications than would be achieved by just the regular meetings.
B. Discuss the Master Plan – Chairman Bronson explained that there was not much to discuss
at this point. It was passed late last year, but due to an error with the dissemination of the
notifications, the process had to be set back, to start again with the required 63 day wait. The board is also in conversations with a specialized attorney to be sure it is done correctly this time.
- Election of Officers – Mr. Salenbien made a motion to reelect the current slate of officers.
Ms. Ruehs supported this motion and all were in favor.
D. Building Permits – Mr. Kolar submitted the building permits for the entire 2025.
He felt that 2026 would be a good year, he has been busy.
E. Secretary’s Report for 2025 – Chairman Bronson said that everyone on the board was sent
a copy. Mr. Proctor moved to accept the report with support from Mr. Plumb, all were in favor. It will become a part of these minutes.
Old Business – No old business
New Business – No new business
With no further business to discuss, Ms. Ost made a motion to adjourn, Mr. Sedlar seconded this motion, it was unanimously accepted. Meeting adjourned at 7:17 p.m.
