Payments

Online: Please use the link above for online payments.

In Person: Cash, check and debit/credit card payments are accepted. Checks payable to either Dundee Township or Dundee Township Treasurer can be acceptedPayments may be placed in the mail slot in the Clerk’s office door 24 hours a day. Any payment dropped in the mail slot in the Clerk’s Door are considered received the last business day office hours are held. 

By Mail: Our mailing address is 179 Main Street, Dundee, MI 48131. Due to recent changes with USPS, we can no longer honor postmark date as date paid. If you are mailing payments, allow seven days for mail handling.

First Merchant’s Bank: An account is not required to make tax payments at this financial institution.

Old National Bank: An account is not required to make tax payments at this financial institution.

For debit/ credit payments: Please note that a 3% service fee is charged through the service provider. This fee is NOT charged or collected by Dundee Township.

For Check payments: If a check payment is returned for any reason, the original payment will be reversed and a new bill will be mailed to you. The new outstanding balance will be subject to all regular deadlines, interest and penalties. Returned payments may be subject to NSF fees.

Where do my tax dollars go?


Did you know that out of all the property taxes paid within Dundee Township, 92% is disbursed to the local taxing authorities?

FOR EVERY $1,000 IN PROPERTY TAXES COLLECTED BY DUNDEE TOWNSHIP:

* breakdown reflects 2025 HOMESTEADED properties and for informational purposes only: School and ISD taxes are determined by which district the parcel is located.

Township Roads: Funds used for maintenance of Township roads, ditches and culverts.
Township Fire: Funds may only be used for towards Fire equipment and maintenance and Fire Hall building and maintenance.
Township Tax: Funds used for township operation plus all expenses that are not considered allowable under fire and roads.

Receipts

Your cancelled check will be your receipt.  If you wish a stamped receipt, bring or mail the entire tax bill to our office.  Receipts for escrowed paid taxes will be mailed after winter taxes are paid (mid-February). Tax Certification requests can be maid via email. Your name, address and/or parcel number MUST be included in the request in order to receive a copy.

Tax Collection Schedule

Summer Taxes:  State Education Tax and the County Tax.

Winter Taxes:  Township Tax; Township Road Tax; Senior Citizen; County Library; Monroe Community College; Spec Ed Tax; Monroe ISD; ISD Technical; School Operating; School Debt; Township Fire Department.

Tax Administration

Treasury:  The Dundee Township Treasurer is responsible for disbursing Township funds as well as administering all property taxes.

Tax Bills:  It is the policy of Dundee Township to mail one copy of the tax bill.  If you have an escrow account for taxes, your mortgage company must request a tax bill each and every time they are due.  If the mortgage company does not ask the township for your bill, then it is mailed to you at your last known address. If you do receive your tax bill instead of your mortgage company, please forward your bill to them immediately so that your bill can be paid in a timely manner.

Personal Property Taxes:  If you were in business as of December 31, 2025 you are responsible for 2026 summer and winter taxes.  Personal Property Taxes paid after due date are subject to penalties and interest.
